ANNOUNCEMENTS

What’s all the buzz about?

Hello Mira Vista Community,

A lot has happened since our last day together at Mira Vista was 3/13. I hope you are safe, healthy and weathering this difficult time as well as you can. Our teachers have been doing a wonderful job creating distance curriculum and most of our students are accessing the work consistently. If your students are having any problems, please contact the teacher and we'll figure out how to support your family. If you are having trouble with your tablet or connections, contact Helpdesk atparent@wccusd.netor 510-243-3901. We are all doing our best to balance our personal, family and community needs. During times such as these we need to offer grace for our imperfections, but also keep stretching to continue learning everyday. Tomorrow, April 16 at 6:30 pm, we will have a Zoom PTA meeting that can be accessed by copying the url below:

Please join us for a moment of community or if you have any questions or concerns about this school year and beyond. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow and will follow this email with a call later this week.

Thank You,

Gabriel Chilcott

Reminder: Riverside is our closest food station for anyone under 18 from 11-1

Dear Mira Vista Families,

Our teachers and staff are moving forward for our kids, and so will we. We want to provide the community with a forum to ask questions and to connect with the school. In that spirit, we will be doing as other PTAs across the nation are doing - holding a virtual PTA Special Meeting on Thursday, April 16, at 6:30pm. You do not have to be a PTA member to attend - everyone is welcome. Zoom meeting details below.

This would have also been the meeting where we voted in our new PTA Executive Board. The new reality has delayed our efforts. If you are interested in serving on the PTA Executive Board - our school needs you now more than ever. Please contact the nominating committee at ptanominations@miravistaschool.com. We aim to announce our slate of nominees at the meeting on 4/16.

The 16th would have been Mira Vista’s Open House. It is an important opportunity to celebrate the work of our students, teachers, and school staff. Let’s come together that night to support our staff and each other.

Community connection - Mira Vista has an active, closed Facebook group. This is an excellent way to stay connected with others in the MV community. We recognize that not everyone is on FaceBook but if you are, here's the link:https://www.facebook.com/groups/156955989376/. Please complete the questions - your answers make it easier for the admin to filter out spam and accept true requests.

Mira Vista is such a strong community. Let’s stay connected.

In solidarity,

Tina Fidler

PTA President
